Communication software "OnScreenKeys"
"OnScreenKeys" is a writing and speaking program, specifically developed for users who suffer from ALS.It runs on any Windows PC (XP/Vista/Windows7) ®, and can be used in various ways such as control via mouse movement, touchscreen as well as eye control.
OnScreenKeys offers inter alia the following features:
On-screen keyboard : Substitutes manual keyboard operation
Auto click feature : Substitutes manual clicks of the mouse
Cross-program control : Write and click in any application
Speech output : Speaking with a natural-sounding voice

Details from the on-screen keyboard with auto click feature
The displayed on-screen keyboard substitutes the standard computer keyboard. To write texts, it is sufficient to pause the cursor over the desired letter. The button triggers automatically after a short time.
You can write in any foreign program, e.g. in a word processor, a browser, an e-mail program, etc. Automatic mouse clicks can also be performed outside of the keyboard surface.
It is controlled either by mouse movements, touch screen, head mouse or eye control system.
Speech output
Upon request, any written text is spoken over computer speakers. A multitude of natural sounding voices are available.OnScreenKeys can drive all the voices with the SAPI4 or SAPI5 standard. Some voices are already integrated into the software. Others must be installed separately.

Dictionary
The dictionary contains about 200,000 words per language. It learns all unknown words and it also adapts to the language style of the user.Therefore, proposals from this very efficient word completion and word prediction features enable you to write long texts with minimal effort.
Phrases and text macros
This feature allows you to write text passages in advance for quick use at another time. This might be frequently used phrases such as welcome or farewell, or any previously written text, to be activated later with a few clicks.Scanning
OnScreenKeys can be operated in scanning mode via a switch or pushbutton. To do so, you need the optional module "OnScreenScan".Compatible Hardware
OnScreenKeys can be controlled with the computer mouse. Hereby, the user is free to decide, either to trigger any mouse button himself or to have it performed automatically.Moreover, the software works with the following devices:
